In view of the fact that Allah hates all non-Muslims, to the extent that he even prevents them from knowing the truth, he leads them even to sin in order to condemn them to eternal torture for their unbelief and their transgressions, makes no sense if he intends to treat Muslims in the same way as they treat Muslims.
The Koran says that no true Muslim would ever love someone who opposes Islam, even if he is a family member:
You (O Muhammad) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Ruh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And We will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow, to dwell therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be the successful. (58:22)
There are at least nine passages in the Koran, where the faithful are warned against befriending with non-Muslims:
O you who believe! Take not for Auliya' (protectors or helpers or friends) disbelievers instead of believers. Do you wish to offer Allah a manifest proof against yourselves? (4:144)
In fact, anyone who has non-Muslims as friends can be accused of being a disbeliever:
O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust). (5:51)
It must be noted that Christians, according to the Koran, were included in the ranks of the "unbelievers"
Surely, in disbelief are they who say that Allah is the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary) . Say (O Muhammad): "Who then has the least power against Allah, if He were to destroy the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), his mother, and all those who are on the earth together?" And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them. He creates what He wills. And Allah is Able to do all things. (5:17)
Muhammad said that unbelievers have something against Muslims. They seem to be harmless and friendly, but in reality they are corrupt and have evil intentions:
O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitanah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand. (3:118)
And when you (Muslims) travel in the land, there is no sin on you if you shorten your Salat (prayer) if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you, verily, the disbelievers are ever unto you open enemies. (4:101)
Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad). (86:15)
Those who are outside of Islam are truly helpers of evil against Allah:
And they (disbelievers, polytheists, etc.) worship besides Allah, that which can neither profit them nor harm them, and the disbeliever is ever a helper (of the Satan) against his Lord. (25:55)
The Koran says that "enmity and hate" between Muslims and unbelievers will "exist forever" until they "believe in Allah alone". (60:4)
Instead of dealing with non-Muslims, the Koran calls for hostility towards unbelievers. Muslims have the order to fight against unbelievers:
O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who are the Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2). (9:123)
The Koran tells to the Muslims that they will spend eternity and will laugh about the unbelievers (83:34) and mock their sufferings as they are tormented in hell:
And the dwellers of Paradise will call out to the dwellers of the Fire (saying): "We have indeed found true what our Lord had promised us; have you also found true, what your Lord promised (warnings, etc.)?" They shall say: "Yes." Then a crier will proclaim between them: "The Curse of Allah is on the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)," (7:44)
Muhammad himself mocked his dead enemies after the Battle of Badr (Ibn Ishaq 454).
They are not friendly with those who are concerned about their suffering, and it makes no sense that Muslims would be friends with those whom the Koran described as "enemies of Allah" through his unbelief.
